The Fraud Unit is responsible for maintaining program integrity in all eligibility programs offered by the Salem County Board of Social Services. All charges of fraudulent activity are investigated.

If these charges are substantiated, the claims workers are responsible for calculating and collecting overpayments.

When indicated, referrals to the appropriate law enforcement agency are made so that legal action can be initiated.

Fraud complaints can be made by calling 856-299-7200 and asking for the Fraud unit, or by emailing Fraud@scbssnj.org.

All calls and/or emails remain confidential.
